How do you get from a cult musical about conjoined twins to a children’s musical about an ugly duckling?
It’s been 15 years since composer Henry Krieger and lyricist Bill Russell graced the stage with “Side Show,” a musical about the Hilton twins. Now they’re back on 42nd Street with “Lucky Duck,” which is made its New York premiere at the The New Victory Theater. It’s a family-friendly tale about an ugly duckling who wants to be a star, a handsome prince in search of a bride, and a big bad wolf trying to be good. But parents don’t be alarmed—there are plenty of things to keep the adults amused.
